Shape and Size: The tip is small and tapered (pointed), similar to the end of a pencil or a small probe, which allows for extremely targeted input.  

Primary Function: Its main purpose is to pinpoint a specific spot within the oral cavity to provide tactile oral placement cues.  

Therapeutic Applications:

Articulation: Used to gently cue the tongue to the correct placement for specific speech sounds (e.g., cuing the tip of the tongue to the alveolar ridge for sounds like /t/, /d/, or /l/).
